Dennis N. Duce adds three new sculptures to the Park City Concept Center’s Growing Art display

The Park City Concept Center has been undergoing many up grades in the last few months. One of those has been to bring in a few local artists to display and sell their work. Since Nielco Roofing and Sheet Metal is a memeber of the Concept Center and I work out of that office location I have been asked to display a few of my pieces around the offices and in the showroom.

Jennifer Brassy form Prospector Lighting has been especialy supportive of this move to include my art. We have worked together on two different lighting pieces both of which are on display in the Concept Center. Last Thursday Jennifer asked me if I had anything “long and skinny” that could hang on the wall in the confference room. I had built this piece in Early December because the scrap inspired me and I liked the basic shape. I brought it up and installed it the same day and was so pleased to see how great it looked. One of the things that is always interusting to me is how different the same piece looks when you change either location or lighting.

OpusFiftyFour was built as a prototype for the Peoples Health Clinic’s new offices at Quinn’s Junction. This Piece is 5 feet tall but the real one will be over 15 feet tall. It is going to hang in the entry of the Clinic over the stairs. The idea behind this piece was to represent a DNA strand since this is a health clinic I felt it would be appropriate to have a medical connection to the piece. This was a fun piece to make since it required so much engineering to make it hold together. I love how much my art makes me use both the right side and the left side of my brain these pieces are not just a creative endeavor but require a lot of structure to make them hold together.

This piece is another personal study or “sketch” . I have made a few of these spiral pieces in various sizes but this is the one that was most intricate. I love the style of this one and how much it catches light. There is something both whimsical and sophisticated at the same time in this copper weaving.

These Pieces are all for sale and can be seen any day of the week at the Concept Center in Park City, Utah. Contact me if you would like a private showing.
