Opus One Hundred Thirty Two is ready for delivery

Last summer I was invloved in a fundraiser in McCall Idaho called Charlie’s Garden. I sold two pieces that night. I delivered OpusSeventyTwo to Bill and Suzanne but the piece was too wide for the location they wanted it to hang so I agreed to create a smaller version of the weaved copper sculpture. OpusOneHundredThirtyTwo is the culmination of that commision. I tried to stay true to the mountain sceen but I used my own personal input to create something that was original and not just a copy of OpusOneHundredSeventyTwo. I will be delivering this sculpture to McCall on Friday morning and hope they are as pleased with it as I am.

Last night I was helping Melisa and Kaycie hang a new show for Dave Thomas at the Silverstone Plaza Gallery. Melisa made a coment about one of the pieces that she wanted to move it to a better place but she did not have anything to go in that spot. I ran out to my car and returned with OpusEightyEight. Both Melisa and Kaycie agreed that it worked well in that spot so we installed it and I took pictures. It is a great fit with my other two pieces OpusSeventyTwo and opusSeventyFour hanging on either side and Amber Congers piece as the center of the gallery (I think her work and mine compliment each other nicely).

Arte Soiree at Silverstone Plaza in Meridian, Idaho

It has been a crazy week end and I have not had a chance to catch my breath. I have been running non stop since Thursday morning at 7 am when I took off to Boise to Install my art in preparation for the Arte Soiree show at the Silverstone Plaza Gallery belonging to Gallerie Belle Ame.

Artee Soire night at Gallerie Belle Ame in the Silverstone Plaza

The show was a great sucsess and I had a lot of fun. The response to my art was great. People where exited and had never seen anything like what I do. I thought the turn out was good but the “Art Divas” at Gallerie Belle Ame would have liked to have seen more (Over achievers never feel happy even if things go well LOL)

I love this picture because of the dancers in front of my piece it gives such an air of grace

I now have three pieces up at the Gallerie (until they sell) I also have a few pieces at the main Gallery in Eagle and three large pieces at Rembrandt’s Coffee also in Eagle.

OpusSeventyTwo (Stanley Lake) is ready for delivery to Galeriee Belle Ame Silverstone Plaza Location

Two down ten to go! I am learning that there is a lot of truth to the old question how do you eat an elephant. Getting this many pieces done in such a short period of time and doing it all nights and week ends so I can keep up on my real job is one of the biggest elephants I have ever had to eat but each time I get another piece done there is such a huge sense of relief and freedom. I am looking forward to the opening  event Arte Soiree on March 18th at the Silverstone Plaza in Meridian Idaho. I hope you are half as exited about how this piece turned out as I am, please let me know your thoughts!
