Last Christmas Ornament post for the day.

Well I have finaly reached the point were I can stop posting about Christmas Ornaments. I have had a great time getting these up on my blog and hope you will enjoy looking through the pictures of my mini sculptures made from double reclaimed copper. I enjoy creating thes by form folding the copper to make it curve and twist. If you want to get ahold of me please contact me through my Facebook fan page.

Final look

Let’s do the twist!

These tight twisted copper Christmas tree ornaments look just a bit like copper icicles. I love looking at them and just wish I could find a way to have them spinning around on the branches to create even more interest.  I could not have created these if I had not learned how to form fold the scrap copper I work with.  For further information on the pieces contact me through my Facebook fan page.

The light just jumps off the inside of this piece.

Beutiful

Whimsical Curved Christmas Tree Ornament was created using form folding.

I have a number of fans on my face book page but I would love to get a few more. Click on this link to see my fan page and get in touch with me. I am working on getting these up on Etsy to sell before Christmas but for now the best way to get a hold of me is to go through Facebook or to go to my contacts page her on my web site. All of my art is made from Reclaimed/recycled copper, stainless steel or corten. I find a lot of joy working with metal to create these wonderful mini sculptures.

This piece has an interesting twist to it. I love how it hangs it looks like it is defying gravity.

One more look and the whimsical look of this piece.

Winged Copper Christmas Ornament.

Each one of these is made from Copper scap I get off of Roofing jobs in Park City Utah. They are about as green or eco friendly as you can get in a Christmas Ornament. I have a lot of fun making them and use these as a way to relieve stress. If you would like to contact me about these or any of my art you can conect with me on my Facebook fan page.

This piece had a long cut in it when I found it. I started to form fold this piece on my anvile and when I got to the cut it started to seperate from the main body giveing way to the copper wings that flow off of this piece.

Another closer view of the wings

This is a fun piece there was already a cut along this before I form folded it and that cut separated when I started to form fold creating the "wings"

Double Spiral Copper Christmas Ornament.

I am having fun getting these up on my blog. My puppy (140 lbs Great Dane) has decided to go to sleep on my feet while I do this. I am so excited about how these copper Christmas Ornaments have turned out. Form folding is a great way to turn the scrap and reclaimed copper into something beautiful for your Christmas tree this year.

This double spiral was created by cutting the piece along the fold prior to fold forming.

Copper form folded Christmas star ornament.

I though this idea up today to cut out a star and then form fold it. I like the texture it creates and the way in which it shines. I am sure with all of the lights on a tree it will be wonderful!

The form fold technique used for this piece gives it a three dimensional look that makes the copper come alive.

Another look shows how this piece is not just a flat piece of reclaimed copper

Another Fold Formed Christmas Ornament

I have a few of these copper form folded Christmas ornaments done and plan on posting them one post at a time. That way it is easier to tell them apart. Some of them look a little bit like each other in the photo’s but in person it is obvious they have been made by hand and that each ornament is an original piece of hand made art.

This one was made from the left over pieces from the next one down on this blog. Nothing like art that is reclaimed from already reclaimed material.

New Christmas Ornaments

I have been working on these for a few days and finally got the time to take pictures of my corm folded copper Christmas Ornaments. I am very please with how these turned out and look forward to making even more. These are all made from reclaimed copper which came off of roofing projects in the Park City, Utah area.  I am going to be selling them for $30 each once I have an Etsy account up and running. For now feel free to contact me directly through my facebook fan page

Opus One Hundred Thirty Two is ready for delivery

Last summer I was invloved in a fundraiser in McCall Idaho called Charlie’s Garden. I sold two pieces that night. I delivered OpusSeventyTwo to Bill and Suzanne but the piece was too wide for the location they wanted it to hang so I agreed to create a smaller version of the weaved copper sculpture. OpusOneHundredThirtyTwo is the culmination of that commision. I tried to stay true to the mountain sceen but I used my own personal input to create something that was original and not just a copy of OpusOneHundredSeventyTwo. I will be delivering this sculpture to McCall on Friday morning and hope they are as pleased with it as I am.

Made changes for OpusOneHundredThirty

My wonderful wife pointed out some areas that would be better if they where heat treated so I figured out a way to heat only one small area after I have weaved the metal strips together. I needed to define the line of the temple so I took my wifes sage advice and colored the stainless to define the temple better.
