Reclaimed Copper Artist Dennis N. Duce on RealGreenWorld

RealGreenWorld is all about going green in a logical way. There are simple things that we can each do to be green. I have been creating green art for a number of years, my material is reclaimed copper which I used to get from the roofing company I worked at, since they are not going to be around much longer it looks like i will be getting my scrap from All Metals Fab in Ogden Utah.

My art has been collected all over the world. My favorite collector is the Springville Museum of Art in Springville, Utah. they have OpusTwentyTwo in the sculpture garden. I have just put two pieces into the Spring Salon and they are being juried right now. (I HOPE I GET IN AGAIN THIS YEAR!)

We did this interview in Dec 2010 in a home built by Greentech Design Build. I love how this piece shows my ability to work with the architecture. this is a curved wall and the piece is curved to match the wall.

This is the rest of the episode taped in the Montage Deer Valley. home of the worlds largest SubDynoMelt system (design and patent by me)

Since I talked about my goal of having the Cake Boss build me a cake that looks like weaved copper art I figured I would put in a link to his web site. I LOVE THAT SHOW!

OpusOnehundredTen has been entered into the Spring Salon I hope it gets in!

Follow my Art! Featured Artist Show at Idaho Banking Company Locations in Boise Idaho

This is the first post for my new little project. I downloaded the picplz app for my Evo 4G phone. It takes a picture and figures out the location of that picture and than loads that info into Google maps so when you are looking at the link you will see the location that picture was taken at and could go see it in person. I will update this often so that you can see new public pieces when they go on display. I was asked to be the featured artist by the Idaho Banking Company for the Boise area. They have four branches in and around Boise and I have a wall sculpture (or more) in every one of the branches. I hung my weaved copper art as well as a few of my form folded copper wall sculptures last week took pictures using the picplz service. It was a lot of fun and I thought it would be a good idea to post links here so that you could see all of the pieces in the various locations.

This particular show has 8 pieces on display right now. All of these have reclaimed/recycled copper some include reclaimed stainless steel and reclaimed zinc. Most of the pieces int his show are my Weaved metal art style though some of them have either elements of Form Folding or they are entirely Form Folded copper art. This show runs through the end of January 2011.
