Opus One Hundred Twenty Six

I have created two mobiles in the last month. I am inspired by the work of Alexander Calder and these are my first attempts to use his sense of balance and movement along with my love of reclaimed copper and fold forming. Every piece in this has been form folded from copper scrap i recycled from Nielco Roofing and Sheet Metal. I love how this piece moves. I could spend hours on my front porch watching this dance with the wind. I don’t plan on selling these for a while I want to make sure they are safe in heavy winds. I am also thinking they are more the type of thing people will want to purchase in the spring so I am going to wait until they are well tested and the season is right. Of course if you want one of these you can always contact me and I would love to sell them I just don’t plan on putting them in my Galleries (Galerie Belle Ame and District Gallery) until next spring. I am thinking that one of my entries in the Spring Salon at the Springville Museum of Art will be a mobile like this one. Enjoy the video.
